Many people think that old furniture has no place in a modern apartment. However, with a little creativity and a few simple tools, a completely new life can be given to them. A renovation project has now shown that even an old cabinet can become a striking piece.
The work began by completely disassembling the cabinet. The handles were removed, the doors were taken off and the shelves were taken out. This made every surface more easily accessible for further work.

After this, thorough sanding followed. The surfaces were smoothed with sandpaper of different grits so that the paint would later adhere evenly. Small defects and irregularities were corrected with wood filler.

When the surface became completely smooth, the painting could begin. A linseed oil-based wood paint was used for the exterior parts of the cabinet. The hard-to-reach corners were painted with a brush, while a paint roller was used on the larger flat surfaces

The interior parts were coated with acrylic paint, which dries quickly and provides a durable surface. The chosen light blue color gave the furniture a special character.

Blue stripes appeared on the inner parts of the shelves, and the edges were given a slightly antique effect. This small detail gave the whole piece a vintage atmosphere.

The final result gave the old furniture a completely new appearance. What was previously outdated and boring has now become a stylish and unique piece.

This project is a good example that renovation does not always mean huge costs. A little time, some paint and a few simple tools can be enough for an old piece of furniture to become a decoration of the apartment again.
