Theresia Fischer’s name may be familiar to many in Germany. The 31-year-old model and influencer previously appeared on the German Celebrity Big Brother show, and now she has once again come into the spotlight because of an extremely drastic procedure.
Years ago, the young woman underwent an extreme surgery: she had her legs lengthened by 14 centimeters. The procedure was not only a long and painful process, but also extremely expensive – in total it cost around 225 thousand dollars.
Theresia was 24 years old when she embarked on the surgery. Doctors implanted telescopic rods into her shinbones, with the help of which the bones could be gradually stretched.
The process was extremely demanding. The bone was first intentionally broken, then gradually stretched with the help of the implanted device. The rods had to be adjusted several times a day, so the legs lengthened by about half a millimeter every day.
However, the model now says that today she sees this decision quite differently. According to her, her husband at the time played a significant role in her deciding to undergo the procedure.
According to Theresia, the man often told her that he likes tall women and that she could even be 14 centimeters taller. He also repeated that she would not be able to manage without him.
“IF SOMEONE TELLS YOU THIS 20, 30 OR EVEN 60 TIMES, AFTER A WHILE YOU START TO BELIEVE THAT YOU REALLY NEED IT” – SHE SAID LATER.
The influencer, born in Hamburg, was previously 167 centimeters tall. She said that the idea of the surgery had been completely unknown to her until then, and she had previously been satisfied with her appearance.
However, her past was not entirely easy. She revealed that as a teenager she was often bullied at school, which left a mark on her self-confidence for a long time.
Theresia later felt that the procedure helped her process this period. She says that today she is satisfied with her legs, even if she partly regrets the decision.
After the surgery, however, she had to face new challenges. She received many hurtful comments on the internet, which affected her deeply.
Today she sees that if her ex-husband had not put so much pressure on her, she probably would never have undertaken this extremely demanding procedure.
